# Can AI see your inventory?

[Canonical page](https://dealerhandshake.com/scan/)

Free visibility check

Enter a dealership website. We read it the way an AI assistant does, then show you what came back and what to change.

Email me when it’s ready (optional)

One email with your report, no subscription. You can also leave this blank and watch the result here.

Free, no sign-up, and it works on any dealership website — yours or anyone else's. We identify ourselves on every request and obey robots.txt: [about our crawler](https://dealerhandshake.com/bot).

This scanner needs JavaScript to run. If you would rather we ran it for you, email [sales@dealerhandshake.com](mailto:sales@dealerhandshake.com?subject=Scan%20my%20dealership%20website) with your website address and we will send the result back.

What comes back

1. How many of your vehicles an assistant actually receives — against how many you advertise.
2. The changes that would fix it, ranked by what each one is worth.
3. Every check we ran with its evidence, including the ones we could not measure.
4. An email you can forward to whoever built the website.

## A free dealership AI inventory audit

Dealer Handshake's scanner retrieves public website content without running the site's scripts. It reports what that method can read, the evidence behind its checks and anything it could not measure. The readability score is not a search ranking. A separate ChatGPT observation, when available, belongs to that run.

### Check three vehicles yourself

1. Choose a current vehicle, one with a recent price change and one recently sold. Keep the feed record and vehicle-page URL for each.
2. Compare the VIN, price, mileage and availability in the website's returned HTML and the scan evidence. Ask your website provider to investigate missing or conflicting fields.
3. In a fresh assistant conversation, ask a specific inventory question. Record the answer, citations, date and whether a connector was enabled. Repeat later; one answer cannot establish a stable position.

For a larger check, use the [ten-VIN inventory test](https://dealerhandshake.com/articles/ten-vin-ai-inventory-test/). To evaluate a connected shopping experience, use the [inventory and CRM acceptance checklist](https://dealerhandshake.com/inventory-feed-ai-integration/#acceptance).

### Does a crawler or schema check prove AI will recommend us?

No. Crawl access, readable data, source selection and a connected inventory query are separate questions. OpenAI distinguishes its search crawler from its training crawler in its [crawler documentation](https://developers.openai.com/api/docs/bots). A valid schema file or a robots.txt rule does not establish a recommendation.

### What should we send to our website provider?

Share the report and the affected vehicle URLs. Ask which fields are present in returned HTML, whether intended search crawlers can access the pages, and how price changes and sold vehicles are reflected. Keep feed passwords and customer details out of the report.
